Croque Madame Stuffed Croissants
I absolutely love Croque Madames, but they are kind of difficult to make. So, I ditched the toast and used a buttery croissant instead! You just stuff all the ingredients inside the croissant, which makes this recipe way easier than a traditional Croque Madame. You definitely need to give this one a try!

Ingredients
- 4 large croissants
- 4-8 thin slices of ham
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup gruyere cheese (shredded)
- 1 bunch chives
- Salt
- Pepper
- Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Carve a hole in the center of each croissant. Dig out some of the insides to make room for the ham, cheese, and egg.
- Shred the gruyere cheese.
- Add one to two slices of ham to each croissant.
- Crack an egg directly into each croissant. Top with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Bake in the oven for 12-14 minutes, and then add the shredded gruyere cheese on top to ensure the egg cooks to your liking.
- Bake for 5-8 more minutes until the cheese melts. Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped chives and enjoy this tasty breakfast!
TIPS
- Make sure you don’t cut through the bottom of the croissants; you don’t want the egg to run all over the place!
- For a runnier egg, just crack one directly into the croissant. Alternatively, you can scramble 3 eggs and 2 tablespoons of half-and-half on the side, then pour them into each croissant for a firmer egg.
