Ingredients
- 1 ½ ounce vodka
- ½ ounce coffee liquor
- 1 ounce chai syrup
- 1 ounce fresh espresso
CHAI SYRUP
- 1 cup water
- 5-6 chai tea bags
- 1 cup sugar
Instructions
- To make the chai syrup, boil water on the stove. Once the water reaches a boil, remove from the heat and add your tea bags.
- Steep the tea bags for 5-7 minutes and then remove.
- Put the pot back on medium heat and add the sugar. Stir well for 8-10 minutes, until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Allow the syrup to cool and transfer it to a mason jar or an airtight container.
- To make the cocktail, fill a shaker halfway with ice. Then add the vodka, coffee liquor, fresh espresso, and chai syrup.
- Vigorously shake and strain into a glass. Top with star anise and enjoy!
TIPS
- Espresso must be fresh to create a good foam on the top of the cocktail. Old coffee or cold brew does not work.
- You can add more chai tea bags to the syrup to make the flavor stronger.
- The chai syrup can be stored in the fridge for one month.
