Ingredients
Spicy Mango Puree
- 16oz bag frozen mango thawed
- 1 jalapeno with seeds and ribs
Margarita
- 1 ½ oz good tequila- I use a reposado
- ½ oz freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
- ½ oz Cointreau
- ½ oz agave
- 2 oz spicy mango puree
- Tajin
Instructions
- Begin by making the mango jalapeno puree- place both ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. I like to leave the seeds and ribs in my jalapeno so that its spicy but if you prefer a milder flavor, you can remove the seeds and ribs. This puree will be enough for 6 margaritas.
- Fill a shaker with ice. Add all ingredients into your shaker. Shake vigorously for 30-60 seconds.
- Rim one side of your glass with lime juice and roll into tajin. Pour entire contents (including ice) into a margarita glass or rocks glass.
- Garnish with lime, mango, and half a jalapeno.
Tips and Tricks
- You can still make the puree with frozen mango; you just might need a little lime juice to help it process and thin out.
- If you cannot find agave sweetener, you could also use simple syrup.
