Ingredients
- 1 pint fresh strawberries
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ lime juice + more for rim and garnish
- 1 ½ oz blanco tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau
- 1 fresh jalapeno sliced thin + more for garnish
- Salt for rim
Instructions
- Take your fresh strawberries and remove the green top. Place in blender with sugar and allow to blend until smooth. Pour into a small container and set aside.
- Fill your shaker with ice. Add in 2oz of your strawberry puree, juice from half a lime, the tequila, Cointreau, and the thinly slice jalapenos (I recommended only using a few slices, so you don’t overtake the flavor of the strawberry). Vigorously shake for 30 seconds.
- Run a slice of lime around the rim of your glass then dip your glass into salt.
- Fill your glass halfway with ice.
- Pour the contents of your shaker into the glass.
- Garnish with a strawberry and a slice of a jalapeno.
Tips
- You will get 4 drinks out of the strawberry puree.
- Taste your puree for sweetness. I do not like my drinks too sweet so if you do, simply add another tablespoon or two of sugar.
